The above are general guide lines to industry standard grading terms. They will however vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Throughout  the web site you will come across additional grades and these will be quantified accordingly.

AGED and DISTRESSED is sometimes used as a grading term. These are rustic grade floors which go through a process where each plank is hand distressed producing a roughened surface. They are then subjected to a series of caustic processes that include smoking and the application of oils and stains prior to finishing.
